Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of Patient after liver transplantation and colon resection
Pavlíček, Jan ; Vláčilová, Ivana (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
v Abstract Author: Jan Pavlíček Title: A case report of physiotherapeutic treatment provided to a patient following liver transplantation and colon resection Objectives: This bachelor thesis aimed to introduce theoretical information concerning issues with a liver transplant, and large intestine resection and elaborate on a case report of a patient that underwent the above-mentioned procedures. Methods: This bachelor's thesis is divided into two parts. The liver and large intestine's anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology are discussed in the first general section. Following chapters are devoted to the main treatment options for advanced liver diseases, i.e. liver transplantation, and indication and possibilities of colon resection. Physiotherapeutic approaches used in the mentioned procedures and further options of treatment for these patients are mentioned in the later chapters. The second specialized part describes a case report of a patient post-liver transplantation and large intestine resection. Included is a report of therapies that the patient underwent as part of ongoing professional practice in IKEM in January and the beginning of February 2023. Results: The patient was not showing any signs of improvement after the therapeutic interventions. This was due to many factors including the general...
Detection of human respiratory DNA viruses in the respiratory tract samples of immunocompromissed patients.
Blagoevová, Kateřina ; Hubáček, Petr (advisor) ; Hirsch, Ivan (referee)
Respiratory tract diseases are of the most common infectious diseases among both children and adult population all over the world. Viruses are the most frequent cause of respiratory diseases. In healthy immunocompetent individuals respiratory infection proceeds mostly without major complications. Immunocompromissed hosts, for example patients after transplatation, are more susceptible to infection and even common infection may be life threatening for them. Human polyomaviruses KI (KIPyV) and WU (WUPyV) and human bocavirus (HBoV) are most frequently detected in the respiratory tract of patients with acute respiratory tract infection primarily in children and in immunosuppressed patients. However, clear causative link between presence of these viruses and the respiratory disease has not been established. In this retrospective study were tested by quantitative real-time PCR 822 (745 from adults and 77 from children) respiratory samples from 380 immunocompromissed patients included 326 adults and 54 children. Viruses were also detected in the 84 peripheral blood samples. The most frequently detected virus was HBoV (6,32 % positive pacients), followed by KIPyV (5,79 % positive pacients) and WUPyV (0, 53 % positive patients). Only HBoV was detected in blood samples. The study confirmed the presence of KI...

Kidney market
Mroviecová, Lenka ; Dušek, Libor (advisor) ; Šlajs, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the possible solution of the kidney shortage problem. Especially analyses effect of legislation system of registration to organ donation on count of kidney transplants and waiting time. The effect of the legislation system is analyzed with panel data of OECD countries. Using random effects method, the estimated result suggest that the countries using informed consent produce on average 7,49 kidney transplants per million population fewer and on average 1,95 years longer waiting time, than countries using presumed consent. Although model predicted positive impact of presumed consent system, empirical data from Chile didn't confirm this assumption. Based on the analysis, I suggest better solution of kidney shortage problem, than change of the registration system. Introduce of compensatory payments to living kidney donors.
Education of patiens after kidney transplantation
PIVCOVÁ, Alena
The title of this bachelor thesis is: Education of Patients After Renal Transplant. A transplant usually means the transfer of an organ or tissue to another place or another individual. Kidneys are among the most frequently transplanted organs here and in the whole world. Eight centers perform kidney transplants in the Czech Republic. Most of them are carried out at IKEM in Prague. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part includes basic information on anatomy, it describes acute and chronic kidney failure and subsequent therapy possibilities, renal transplant and education. quantitative research. The practical part includes quantitative research. The research was performed by a half-structured interview with 8 patients after the first renal transplantation and with 4 nurses working in the Nephrology Unit of IKEM in Prague. Case reports were prepared from these interviews. We set two goals at the beginning: to find out how the nurse educates patients after renal transplant on regimen measures and to find out how patients comply with the regimen measures. We posed to ourselves these three research questions: What methods does a nurse use when educating patients after renal transplants? What is the educational background of nurses designated for educating patients after a renal transplant? What are the transplanted patient´s life restrictions after a transplant? What life restrictions impair the patient the most after integration into normal life following a transplant? The research questions were answered during the interviews. The interviews showed that all patients are educated during their hospitalization several times. Patients know the regimen measures to be adhered to. The education is carried out by a coordinator who does not have special training and does not have any knowledge about how to conduct the education. Therefore, the output of the thesis has been a training plan which will be available for the hospital management to prepare its own training plans.
